There's no real "both ways" about it. If a dev willfully puts out content reasonable people can't experience, they deserve every bit of ridicule and scorn they receive. Whether or not it "works" in other MMOs is also highly subjective, as I'm more inclined to say the alliance/raid population gets the golden ticket while lesser folk suck on scraps to the rough tune of sub-20% content exposure (at its peak). WoW tried to solve that with their dumbed down raid finder, but since it still doesn't pay out the same loot, those fortunate to have that right group still get their edge while those without still hit the progression wall, if only delayed slightly.

Of all the MMO hopping I've done as a midcore player erring toward hardcore, one of the worst things a game can do to chase me off is making progression not a matter of personal skill, but more reliant on outside factors, and that usually boils down to people, their time, their personalities, and their own abilities. All wildcards beyond my control. I've certainly had the, "MMOs aren't for you!" shit slung at me in the past, too. All that does is compel me to have zero sympathy for the raider crowd and their feelings being hurt by accessible content/progression. And of course, the "both ways" to that is the tired line of, "You just want things handed to you!" Point perpetually missed.

Scaling is the compromise. SE may not entirely be doing it right, but they're in the right to be doing it. And that's before factoring in lacking modern MMO features.

I'm not getting the double bayld from reives atm. I usually just sit at a lair reive in Outer Ra'kaznar. Dualboxing I get 2500-2700 bayld per char, single boxing it while another char does salvage and still only getting 2500-2700 bayld per character.

Clearing content based on skill? Why can't someone with an IQ of 25 have the same fun and enjoyment as you. Why should they make content that excludes stupid people from getting the absolute best gear in the game in as little of time as possible by themselves? Those wildcards pay the same amount on the game as you do, they're clearly entitled to anything and everything in the game that you are regardless of skill, playtime or dedication.

Seriously, it's no wonder you do so much MMO hopping. Based on the tone of all your posts, you think you're always in the majority of what all players want, yet nothing makes you happy for long so you complain how things should be changed to appeal to you and screw everyone else(especially those spoiled hardcores).

Probably the same thing they did last time where they only increased the amount you could get per eval or whatever but kept the caps the same. Which means it only matters if you have too many people on it which everyone complained about and this one even said max is increased as well but looks like not. Put in a bug report?

It might be poor wording and/or only apply to WKR. Currently just did Colkhab, came to it at 86% and wiped at 8%. Reive addon has me at 46k bayld earned in the run and still getting some more. Now, if only someone can come in and raise me and/or finish the WKR and raise me before work, that'd be great...

Could be. Like they doubled the rates of all but only raised wkrs cap.

Other-MMO endgame highly frowns upon people with variable schedules, which is what I happen to fall into. XI isn't far off, but it's generally more flexible these days. Time and time and time and time and time again, it's so easy for them to just say, "Find the guild that best suits your needs!" when it basically winds up impossible to do. Server transfers? Some games charge, and there's still no guarantee one could find the right fit. Frankly, I'm not arguing myself as a majority demographic, but someone cognizant of what needs to happen to make things work for as many people as possible. If you want to go full retard with the IQ crack, that's on you. Meanwhile, the rest of us will realize the rarer something is kept, the less likely people will want to share it. When accessibility is the biggest problem, then yup, doin' it wrong. Hurt feelings of the hardcore aren't my concern, however much a douche you wanna paint me in consequence.

Just realize you come off like Bill O'reilly screaming at minorities for ruining everything for the white majority with your constant attacks on hardcore players/events. FFXI in particular has always been good at striking a balance of multiple events that cater to everyone, that's what the goal should be, not change everything to fit only 1 set of people(you), regardless if they are the majority.

Fair enough. I mean, I'm not complaining about potentially having to spend less time hitting maneuvers. Just want to clarify that some people seem to think this is a much more significant performance buff than it actually is. It's really not much more than a QOL/convenience thing. Which is cool, but a far cry from the reason people HAD been asking for longer maneuver duration for years, to avoid the crippling JA delay lag that has been eliminated as of December.

But the best part in this imho is exactely what you're referring to when you wrote about the "precedent in the event they will expand further on this idea".
This is exactely why I like it.
Well, I guess I'm not exactly against ADD getting nerfed if there's a significant benefit involved in not using it. Just seems so weird that they just finally acknowledged no plans to eliminate this long time strategy (which I agree has always been a little "cheap" and wonky), now we see changes that look like a step toward exactly that. Maybe you're right that it spurred some discussion and they're rethinking things. But like you said, would need some further changes.

I'm pretty casual as well, I often play for maybe 3hr every 2 weeks now. I mostly do random CP party, missions and some endgame content with my LSmates if they're on. If no one is on then I go solo.

Of course I don't have the best gears, and there are some content that I haven't experience, but I play the game for just for the sake of playing it.

IMO, after I change my mindset and play the MMO for the sake of playing it, MMO is a lot more enjoyable this way, even as a casual.

MMO needs content for hardcores and hardcore players, that's how the industry goes since forever, and there's a good reason behind it. I understand why hardcore content exists, and why MMO needs them. I don't really give a damn about other players wearing better gears than me, because the game needs those people.

Absolutely, but that's what I'm hoping for.
Which wouldn't be a nerf to ADD (they already said they won't nerf it) but rather good motivations to give you reasons NOT to use it, even if it's still there.
I like this approach and hope they'll expand it further (because maneuvers durations clearly isn't enough, by itself)

Funny, I'm seeing people complaining about getting screwed when they're not. You can still 18-man this shit, just don't get pissed the trio actually has a shot now. Far as other MMOs go, that's largely not the case. Shame on me for calling out bad designs that persist largely because that vocal minority remains so vocal in dictating what others should and shouldn't do. Being on the other side sure is annoying, isn't it.

*Four notorious monsters will be added to the same objective in Fei'Yin, and each must be defeated for successful completion.
A variety of equipment is available as rewards for vanquishing these NMs.

Adventurers in parties of between three and five characters may now call forth alter egos in Wanted battles.
    * A party of at least three players is required to battle notorious monsters.
A new option to spend Unity accolades to travel to an area for which the player has accepted a Wanted objective will be added.
Selecting the option “Currently accepted area” will display areas for which the player has accepted a Wanted objective.
*Areas from expansions that have not yet been installed will not be displayed.

And Assault Jerkin. My fashion senses are fighting my nostalgia right now.

Edit: Come to think of it, there might be a new Gae Bolg. Wonder if it will be any kind of competition for Olyndicus as far as high delay polearms are concerned.

They just keep adding reasons to justify the Lock-style expansion lol. Adding trusts to wanted battles is pretty cool though, wish they'd do that for VW already.
